The Studiomaster C3X mixer is designed with small PA (solo, duo, karaoke) and installs (pubs, clubs)in mind, where compact size and a professional feature array are demanded. In a 1u high rack mount enclosure, the 12 input C3X provides all the essential features of larger format mixers, albeit with them in a much more compact and easy to use package. With 4 balanced xlr/jack combination inputs, two located on the front and two on the rear panel, provide connection for mic and line level equipment. 4 stereo inputs fill out the numbers in both ¼'' jack and phono formats, providing versatility suitable for playback of most electronic devices. Additionally all inputs have access to a pair of pre and post fader auxiliary sends allowing for monitor mixes or effects sends to be set-up. In this unit, Studiomaster's new custom effects DSP are incorporated, providing not only reverbs and delays, but also the unique and long awaited vocal effect that has made Studiomaster products so popular over the years. Removable rack ears are included for stand alone operation.

I'd previously used this model in a small pa setup, sold it and moved to larger desk based mixer pa. However the studiomaster was my first choice when putting together a small rack based PA system this February. Very versatile unit.
The C3X is a solid piece of kit, and delivers a good sound as you would expect from Studiomaster. It drops a couple of stars because of the layout of the outputs. It's a bit strange how the inputs/outputs are setup - clearly done to save space in a 1U form factor, but being a designer of mixing gear, it's not how I would have designed it to save space. Still, if you need a good number of inputs for a simple live setup, it's great. If you need to record or do any complex setup, it probably will be too limiting.
