Just to confirm, the review is about the device not djkit website. djkit customer service is great.
Controlling the device is very convenient. The pads feel great. The effects are ok, some of them are really nice, I specifically the compressor with the ducking option.
The first problem was that it didn't have the factory presets. Which could have been ok if the internal drive is present. But unfortunately, it wasn't. You need to have a usb stick that you can save your projects to. I had many usb sticks but most of them didn't work no matter how I formated them. I don't think it reads larger sticks then 8gb.
That leads to another issue with the internal memory/drive. You can't save on it. Which I find absurd. I don't really understand if there is an internal drive with Loopcloud samples why I cannot delete them and use the internal drive with my samples?
Another problem is the project creator. It doesn't work through the USB cable. I received Mount error message.
So after the missing internal memory and the loopcloud samples on it, plus the mount error issue I actually had to send the device for repair.
It was in service for a month.
After I got back, turned out that they could not fix the mount error problem. The internal memory is present but I cannot save on it.
That means that Pioneer could not pull through a function that 10 years ago an akai mpc 4000 had: syncing projects and samples through a usb cable.
It gets more annoying when I see guys using that function in their youtube videos.
All in all this is an unacceptable standard for a company like Pioneer. I am a bit disappointed, especially that after service I ve been told that I should wait because they don't know the cause.
I asked for a replacement, they said they dont do that. I assume if I would be a big name I would receive another device on the next day.
I have a feeling there is no intention to repair this Mount error problem, which by the way comes up in every computer I connect the Sampler to. It feels like they are hoping for a Platon' s cave effect.
I paid for this product and I expect that it works flawlessly. Especially from a premium brand.
