AlphaTheta WAVE-EIGHT - portable wireless DJ speaker with SonicLink
The WAVE-EIGHT is a portable, battery-powered DJ speaker built to turn any location into a performance space. Its headline feature is SonicLink - AlphaTheta’s proprietary ultra-low-latency wireless technology that keeps your mix perfectly in sync in real time, far faster than standard Bluetooth. Add an 8-inch woofer, IPX4 water resistance, up to 8 hours of battery and built-in wheels, and it becomes the natural companion for beach parties, pop-up events and mobile gigs.
Staff take: the expert verdict
Cable-free DJing has always come with a latency catch - regular Bluetooth simply isn’t fast enough to mix or scratch on. SonicLink is what makes the WAVE-EIGHT different: the included transmitter plugs into your mixer or controller and the delay drops to near zero, so what’s in your headphones matches what comes out of the speaker. Factor in the 8-hour battery, IPX4 splash resistance and the wheels-and-handle design, and this is the speaker we recommend to any DJ who plays outdoors or away from mains power. Link a second unit for a stereo pair when you need more coverage.
Why choose the WAVE-EIGHT?
- Cable-free DJing with SonicLink - ultra-low-latency wireless audio that’s significantly faster than standard Bluetooth, enabling seamless real-time mixing.
- High-impact audio - an 8-inch woofer, 1-inch tweeter and Class D amplifier deliver punchy, clear sound up to a 118 dB maximum SPL.
- Vortex Bass Accelerator - enhances low-frequency response so a compact cabinet still produces resonant, distortion-free bass that fills outdoor spaces.
- Tour-ready portability - built-in wheels and an extendable handle make setup and tear-down quick and easy.
- All-weather reliability - an IPX4 rating means the speaker is splash-proof and ready for outdoor use.
- Extended battery life - up to 8 hours of playtime on a single charge, with the option to run on AC power while charging.
- Expandable coverage - link multiple WAVE-EIGHT units wirelessly for a true stereo pair or a larger mono setup.
Who is the WAVE-EIGHT for?
The WAVE-EIGHT is made for mobile and open-format DJs who play away from a fixed booth - beach parties, pop-up events, rooftop sets and outdoor gigs where mains power and cabling aren’t practical. It also suits performers who want a genuinely wireless setup for real-time mixing, and anyone who needs a rugged, splash-resistant speaker that scales up by linking a second unit.
Pro performance features
Revolutionary SonicLink technology: a dedicated SonicLink transmitter connects directly to your DJ gear and transmits audio near-instantly, so the sound in your headphones matches the speaker output - unlike standard Bluetooth, which introduces noticeable lag.
Vortex Bass Accelerator: purpose-built bass technology that helps a compact cabinet deliver impactful, resonant low-end without distortion, even across large outdoor spaces.
Expandable soundscapes: link multiple units wirelessly to scale your sound - a true stereo pair for wider coverage, or a larger mono setup for bigger crowds.
