The Traktor Kontrol S5 is a portable, pro 4-deck controller fitted with state-of-the-art intuitive technology, which provides core control over Stems and Remix Decks. Taking inspiration from its predecessors the S4 Mk2 and the S8, the S5 retains Novation’s familiar feel, whilst displaying impressive hands-on, touch-and-see workflow for an innovative new multi-sensory DJ experience.
What sets the Traktor Kontrol S5 apart from competitors is its intuitive feel. Native Instruments have fitted the S5 with touch-sensitive knobs, pads and Touch-Strips to give DJs tactile control over track position, pitch bend and much more within the Traktor Software. The pair of bright, full colour display screens alongside the 16 colour-coded pads get DJs making mixes in the instinctive snap, twist and tweak of a finger. And the rapid access to track BPM, filter, FX and key keep inventive play and performance improvised and alive.
Although the Traktor S5 is a compact, road-ready controller, it is clear that Native Instruments have not scrimped on the high-tech features. And with customisable features, like the FX unit, which comes with 30 studio-quality FX and Macro FX – the S5 knocks down all boundaries for on-the-move play.

spent some time looking at the different controllers on the market and deciding what were gimmicks and what would I use. The s5 has just the right amount of tech and after a few hours is very simple to use. its still early days but now i have the settings sported its excellent value for money.

I upgraded from the S2 to the S5 and I'm glad I made the jump. I thought I would miss the jogwheels but the touchstrips are responsive and actually work quite well. The screens really help you to engage more with the mixer as I was used to spending alot of time staring at the laptop. As far as for value for money goes you cant really beat it. A thumbs up from me.

Good, for producing music, good for live dj's, they dont have all the normal features, but still well built.
