American DJ Stinger

I bought a pair of the ADJ Stingers for my rig, the aim being to reduce the amount of kit being carried and hence set-up and breakdown time. These fixtures incorporate 3 separate effects into the one unit - a Moonflower - a Cluster Laser - and Strobe. The unit produces a great moonflower effect with an unusual Pink LED included. The spread of the moonflower is quite wide, 2 together will cover a medium size venue from floor to ceiling with ease. The beams produced are bright and look great, a bit of smoke or haze finishes the effect nicely, but this isn't necessary if you are just looking for a room filling effect. The lasers are red / green cluster type and scroll through the usual types of pattern that you will see from small cluster lasers. They look good, particularly when the are operating in conjunction with the moonflower, giving that little extra zing to the effect. The strobe on this light is bright, particularly when you consider that it is only produced from eight 3watt LEDs. The effect is not as bright as a dedicated strobe fixture would be, but it is still quite impressive, particularly when using a pair of Stingers - perfectly acceptable. One great feature of this lighting unit is that the show modes (there are seven of them) allow you to select which effects you want to run. As DJs we are cautious to the use of lasers and strobes, these effects can be switched off by selecting from the available modes, the instruction manual lists the various configurations available. The units have the usual sound active on / off and master / slave operation available. Operation of the various modes available is via the now "usual" four unit LED display on the rear of the fixture. The unit is sturdy, not too heavy and you can fit a pair in an AccuCase AC-160 bag. All in all I am pleased with the Stinger, it reduces the kit you need to carry to provide a multiple effect light show and reduces set-up and breakdown time, looks great in operation and covers a wide area. The usual great service from DJKit - thank you guys. Recommended by meal, gets 5 stars.

Wonderful product easy to setup and additional bonus point is build in laser and bright light.

I have many high end light's, most of which are Martin Discharge variety. However, this must go down as a ground breaking development for the mobile DJ, in all of my years in the business this has got be the best light in it's field. How these small LED's from the Stinger can outshine the some of the high end brands is astonishing, it can light up very large halls and if you have two of the DMX linked then you have more or less a complete show. All you need is some haze and you have a stunning set for an affordable price. At some stage in the next month I plan to sell off all my Martin equipment and go all out LED, less power, lighter and so much easier to setup. Just noticed that it has now been super-seeded by the Stinger 2.

Top notch centre piece light with bright and wide moonflower effect, intense strobe and dazzling red and green lasers. Why buy 3 lights when you have all these in one unit.

wonderful centerpiece or to have at each end of your trussing...so much brighter and smoother then the swam5fx (they still a good unit)...would highly suggest these

Great new lighting effect, has 3 different functions, led, laser and strobe or just 2 or all 3 , highly recommend

This product has excellent coverage of the dance floor with a variety of in built shows. The only minor issue is changing the light the light show can take some time as you need to press and hold the menu button for 10 seconds before accessing the different options. All being said with a DMX controller this is easily overcome. I would definitely recommend this to any mobile DJ. Its light and convenient for putting on a great lighting effect.

Great all in one light - brilliant for a quick set-up and still fills a reasonable size room. Even better with a bit of stage smoke!! All in all excellent value for money. Thanks again DJ KIT for the recommendation!

I saw this unit in action at a colleagues Gig and it was great. Got one the next day from DJKIT and i am very pleased with it. Very bright and versatile. Worked straight out of the box. Shame it will not accomodate a remote control like some of the other ADJ units but this is not really an issue for me.
