Great piece of PRO equipment

This would not look out of place in any club, bar or major event. Such a great piece of gear that works as good as it looksm, perfectly! Everything feels solid to touch, faders and pitch control are long and exact, the pitch is also changable via % button. Works straight out of the box with Traktor but most DDJs will want to customise a few features and the 4Trak has plenty of extra assignable buttons, faders and knobs for you to use. The file naviagtion controls are excellent, you might not even need to touch the keyboard or mouse during a set ever again (no more checking emails during a gig). Deck platters are comparble to CDJs in that they feel so responsive, well illuminated and are of a good size. The FX Kommand Control is in the perfect location only flaw in my opinon is the placement of the FX on/off toggle buttons right above the gain controls for each channel. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to input and outputs on the rear of this controller, the choice of XLR and/or phono as main outputs means that no matter what venue or setup you have you should never have a problem connecting and you still have phono outs for booth and a full volume control on the 4Trak. You can connect 2 microphones, a mixture of up to 2 sources from mp3, turntables or cdj via the line/phono connectors. On the front side of the 4Trak you have deck assign for the crossfader and curve control. Cue mix, split cue and volume for your headphones, again you are spoilt for choice you don't need headphone adaptors as the 4Trak gives you the option of both sizes of headphone jack outputs. Really pleased with my purchase, i have used both the Traktor S4 and the Pioneer DDJT1........ BUT........the Numark 4Trak beats both of these in features and ease of use!

Nice toy for beginners

Not exactly pro equipment, but it is great for anyone looking to get to grips with DDJ software and controller inerfaces. Works well out of the box with the DJUCED software but kinda of hard to get used to, works with Traktor after some remapping but works even better with Virtual DJ. The different layers and modes that this tiny little controller has are hard to navigate at times if you like adding fx to loops etc. Best thing i can say about the Control Instinct is apart from the price you get get a nice compact controller that you can learn on, that will take abuse and it has a choice of 2 outputs - phono or stereo mini jack and on the front you have a stereo mini jack for headphones (most others in the price range dont have this) This would make an ideal gift for any budding DJ
