Q-Audio QWM 1960 HH UHF V2

I generally like to rely on wired connections - I guess I'm a bit old school, but I needed something more mobile for presentation evenings so thought I'd give the QWM 1960HH UHF a try. This kit is based on the old KAM system which was one of the better KAM products and this system keeps up the good standards. From first switch on the Mics paired up with the base station with no fuss whatsoever. There are a number of channels that you can chose to use for each separate Mic, reducing the chance of channel occupation by any other systems in use in the venue. Each Mic has a gain control on the base station allowing you to control the output signal to your mixer system. The display on the base unit is very good, giving clear indications for Mic signal presence and channel in use etc, it's well lit and easy to read. The gain from these Mics is very good, users can hold the mic away from the mouth and the voice signal is still picked up reasonably well, gain control allows you to compensate as necessary. The only negative thing that I can find with this system is the plastic case of the base station. A metal case would have been nice at this price, but it doesn't detract from the operation of the system which is fault less. I've tested these Mics up to 40 meters distance with no drop outs. If you only need one Mic the second Mic stands by as a back-up. Great that Q Audio have picked up and developed this product. Gets 5 stars from me. Recommended.

Goods and the bads. Over the last weekend I used these mics in 3 different situations, 1 at a little Karaoke show, the mics were extremely good, picked up the vocals well, not crackling/dropping out, really nice. 2 at a 'bingo brunch' with two very excitable hosts, both mics were great, was easy balancing the volume between the two hosts (one was markedly louder than the other) simple to sort. 3 at Wembley Boxpark with a rapper and more karaoke. Handled a rapper set extremely well, handled a karaoke set extremely well. Very happy with these mics, they are great for presenting, singing and announcing, for �200 I very much doubt you'll get better.
