Pioneer PLX-500 K Turntable (Black) and Mixars Duo MK2 Mixer Package

Very good piece of kit of which my 7 year old has taken a real interest in classic vinyls!!

Ordered a pair of these for home use, listening and mixing, and are spot on. USB allows you to convert vinyl. Quite a few turntables out there at around this price point to choose from, but for me was an easy decision as I have other Pioneer DJ equipment and always been happy with the brand. Build quality is very good, I had read some reviews that said the plastic build could cause some unwanted feedback, but personally not had any issues. Sound quality is very good. Bought for my home set-up this is the perfect peace of kit. A good sturdy weight and very easy to set up out of the box. You may want to invest in a better quality slipmat but the one supplied is adequate for those just using the turntable to record their vinyl direct from the USB connection which is as simple as anything with Rekordbox. My only improvement would be for Pioneer to put a dampener on the stylus light as it pops up very quickly and is a bit wobbly. However that's just a personal preference from an old DJ who used to use Technics back in the day. Add to the above the excellent customer service from DJKit.com and you can't go wrong.

Great entry level turntables, value for money is amazing. Make sure you do your research on calibrating the turntable (Cartridge alignment protractors etc..) Cartridge included works fine!

Loving this turntable. It’s my first proper one (before was a cheap plug in portable one) so have had a lot of fun with it. The matt black is really smart and has an elegant over all feel to it. Only thing I would say is maybe the slip mat could be a bit more interesting. But that’s personal preference.

Well what can I say? It's Pioneer... sure it's no Technic 1210 but this turntable is incredible for the money. Fantastic build quality and feels really sturdy. Would recommend to anyone looking for a turntable

Not as good as it bigger brother but handles performance very well once fitted with a nice weighted head. The R.A.C cables feel cheap but this turntable dose give a very clear audio signal without any audio loss. The main think here is to make sure you calibrate the weight, height and anti-skipping in order to match your stylus, this is where the magic happens. I've played with these for almost 12 months now and I'd like to give these my personal rating.

Not a Technics by any means. Build quality is not quite the same but as far as mixing goes it makes little difference. There is some reverberation when holding the record in situ when revolving but this does not effect the sound when actually playing. You can scratch but I would say there are better decks for not allot more that can do this. Some include a gereric concord cartridge as well! For home use this is perfect for me and I am more than happy with my purchase.

Love the pioneer PLX-500 I used 1200s back in the 90s then gave it up and wanting to get back on the decks and play all my old vinyl i gave theses a go and for the price i cant fault them they do what i want no problem

Excellent. Bought as a gift for my fiance and he's over the moon.

Had a play on these today didn't like them didn't seem to be up to much Kinda slow on take off after having lil scratch on them compared to another turntable the torque pull seemed lot more better. Audio technica lp120 seemed lot better.

For the money you cant go wrong. I got the rega rp1 before the pioneer and the pioneer is at least 50% better and the rega was the performance pack version so you're paying about the same amount and you're getting a much better record player with the pioneer. One more thing to change from 45rpm to 33rpm on the pioneer you've got button's to change plus you can play 78rpm on the pioneer where the rega you got to change 33 to45 manually you've got to take the platter of and change the belt from one groove to the other groove plus if you want to play 78rpm you can't on the rega so all the plusses go to the pioneer.

I needed a new mixer after years of putting up with an old one because I no longer dj in clubs. I'm an officially retired dj only playing for myself. I couldnt believe how much everything has really changed towards laptops and the cost that goes with it. So I looked at all the options and could see a massive price difference between mixars duo and something like a rane 72 or equivalent. Im sure the price has a reason but to me I cannot equate over £1500 for a mixer. So I took the jump. What can I say, I'm glad i did. The main thing i needed was a light, curve adjustable xfade. The crossfade is the best I've seen and used in a long time. The overall quality is remarkable I'm truly happy with this. Pros: 2 usb connections as well as 1 designated pc connection, perfect xfade control, good pad selection, nice onboard filter dials, completely remappable buttons by serato, easy serato activation (just plug it in), designated line/phono/serato switches on either channel allowing serato on one and a vinyl or cd to play on the other, perfect size, fx button controls, load to serato from the mixer, quality build, aux line in from the front. Cons: pad bank of 8 but must select by button, fx only works in serato, fx button is small and in the wrong place (might remap it), only one fx at a time unless using on the laptop keyboard or 2 from either side of the mixer over the main volume? I've not tried this. To sum this up I found it hard to find the cons I had to really think. You just cant go wrong with it as you can remap the whole thing by serato. So if a button doesnt do what you want just change it to another. This mixer is so well design and I believe it is future proof as well. The 2 extra usb inputs are a gem and I can only imagine the possibilities. If your on a budget just buy this and you wont be disappointed.

Has lots of faded controls other mixers don't, rock solid build and Serato compatibility. Very good mixer for the price.
