The Korg Kaossilator 2 is a portable Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer boasting 150 presets tailored for dance genres.
Korg's Kaossilator 2 allows users to play the synthesizer by simply stroking, tabbing or rubbing the touchpad. The Kaossilator 2 is perfect for users who are not keyboard players, allowing them to perform easily with horizontal motions controlling pitch while vertical motions control variations in tone. With 150 built-in sounds covering the full spectrum of dance, sound effects for DJ use and PCM generated drum sounds.
Even those who have never played a musical instrument can perform effortlessly with the Kaossilator 2 using the Key and Scale features to ensure all notes played will match the song being performed. Simply specify the musical key or "root", choose any of 35 scales, which range form chromatic, major pentatonic, and minor blues to more unusual scales and play perfect solos. The Kaossilator 2 also boasts a Gate Arpeggiator to further enhance your performance.

The battery life is utterly horrendous - I reckon this device is the worst for draining a set of (Duracell) AA batteries. I've spent heaps on them already. If I could get store credit or similar, I'd return the Kaossilator 2 in a flash. The built in speaker has sucky bass depth and sounds tinny and just not right. Headphones help but only over the ear and fairly decent ones. I have a Kaoss Pad 2 and a Kaoss Quad and both have met the extremely high standard of quality and overall feel that gives KORG the huge reputation it has. I would send it back but Ive been in hospital and don't know if I still can after this time. If someone reads this and decides I can get store credit for returning the item, please send an email or call my phone to let me know. It would be most appreciated. Kind regards, Mark Greehowe.
