Pioneer DJ Users - DON'T UPDATE!
PIONEER DJ USERS - LISTEN UP!!
Whether you’re a Windows user or Mac, Pioneer DJ have advised to hold off updating to the newest operating systems.
When Big Sur dropped at the end of last year, a lot of DJs ended up pretty frustrated after updating their iOS straight away before equipment and software manufacturers had given the thumbs up. It was nearly 3 months until software and hardware was compatible, leaving a lot of DJs in a pretty tight spot!
Now that the new Windows 11 and iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey are about to drop, Pioneer have advised their users to hold off updating whilst they review the compatibility of the software and hardware with the new operating systems:
“We’ll provide updates when we complete our testing. Until then, we can’t guarantee our products are compatible with the new operating systems.”
To be fair, this advice could be aimed at all DJs, not just those who use Pioneer DJ. We always recommend to turn off automatic updates on your devices so that you’re in control as and when you update, avoiding the mess of null equipment, or the kerfuffle of having to backtrack to earlier operating systems.
So, ‘if it aint broke, don’t try to fix it’ applies in this case, as we’d hate for our customers to be struggling with equipment issues, especially with the busy Xmas period coming up!
If you are dying to update to the newest operating system, we will of course let you know when it is safe to do so.
