Future DJs and DJing on the school curriculum for GCSE

Wow how excited are we! Future DJs in partnership with Pioneer DJ have put DJing on the school curriculum for GCSE in the UK.

Their mission:

'FutureDJs is an education business with a large social impact for young people supplying professional visiting DJ and Music Production tutors to schools nationwide (in the same way as traditional instrumental tutors).

Tutors deliver a unique programme of study created by professionals, starting at Key Stage 2 and running through to Key Stage 5, in accordance with the new AQA, OCR and Eduqas GCSE music specifications.

One of the key focuses of the organisation is simply to get more young people into music, and in turn more students taking GCSE and A-Level Music.'

With this on the horizon we have decided to put a kit list together of what DJ Equipment for schools you will need to practice at home when studying DJ for GCSE.

What equipment do I need for GCSE DJing?

You will need a Pioneer DJ Controller, Laptop either Mac or PC some form of speaker / monitors to hear the music and a set of dj headphones for monitoring.

Which DJ Controller do I need for GCSE DJing?

The main bit of dj kit you will need is a DJ Controller, for your DJ GCSE course you will need a Pioneer DDJ-RB Rekordbox Controller (or equivalent) priced at £219

What DJ Software do I need for GCSE DJing?

With the Pioneer DJ Controllers you get FREE Rekordbox software which will be needed for your GCSE course. You will just need is a PC or Mac Laptop to run the DJ Software.

Which speakers do I need for GCSE DJ?

If you already own a stereo or an active speaker you can basically just plug in and you are ready to start mixing for your GCSE DJing studies. If you need a set of DJ Monitors we recommend the Pioneer DM-40 Monitors priced at £129.

Which Headphones are best for my GCSE DJ studies?

There are a number of dj headphones from Pioneer DJ which can be used for the DJ Course ranging from £69 upto £299. We would reconmend either the Pioneer HDJ-700 Headphones priced at £115 or the latest model the Pioneer the HDJ-X5 Headphones priced at £89.
