The vci300 mkii is the result of impressive research from Vestax, listening to the requirements of the working dj to produce an updated, refined and improved version of the award winning original vci 300. The mk2 version now benefits from a Volume (gain) Boost, which allows higher output gain level and headphone volume level when supplying power with the optional power adaptor. New adjustment knobs for the jogwheel sensor control provide more responsive and accurate control, too. Audio fed to the mic/aux input can now be directly sent to the Master outputs with the thru switch turned on, minimizing latency when fed through itch software. Moreover, The vci-300 Crossfader can be upgraded to Vestax's new magnetic sensor system - the non-contact cf-x2. Finally, Vestax have incorporated a 1/8" headphone connection along with standard 1/4" connection for added versatility. The core features of the vci 300 are still familiar - control more than 90 parameters and functions of the included serato software with high resolution midi signals sent via usb. The pulse resolution of the jog wheel and pitch control fader is 4 times higher than the vci100 and provides all the precise control needed for professional level mixing. Dedicated controls are provided for all the functions a dj could want, covering all the basics such as eqing, monitoring and pitch. And the advanced features are provided in abundance too. Hot cues, looping and scratching is all possible thanks to the vci300's direct and pre-mapped control of the serato developed software. The faders have complete curve control to suit all styles of mixing, and the jog wheels have adjustable torque to allow the unit to adapt to surroundings as well as the dj. A built in audio interface means this is the complete software dj solution, with no additional soundcard required. The vci300 has a dedicated headphone output for natural dj style cueing and monitoring, as well as an auxiallary input and microphone input for further expansion. All your music is at your finger tips with dedicated crates, files and browse keys too. You don't have to jump between mouse, keyboard and controller when djing, all your music can easily selected at the push of a button. Serato and vestax have facilitated the most demanding djs in the past, their collaboration on the vci300 means they will maintain that service djs of the future too.

After reading many reviews and watching youtube videos i decided to purchase this unit, i have to say being the first controller i have used/bought it lives up to its expectations. I was very skeptical about things like latency and quality, especially with the scratching. This was soon to be confirmed great once i got my hands on the unit, everything is adjustable to suit and been used to cdj1000s it's very close to scratching with the exception of smaller jog wheels. This isn't really a unit if your looking for FX but in experience you will learn you can play with the reverse and use loop/tempo tricks to create your own buildups etc. However, if your well into your effects you can simply purchase the VFX-1 unit. The only downside i have found to these units is not being able to get hold of the power supply unit to use the pre-amp feature or the digital cross fader... Maybe this is something available through Vestax direct. Overall i'm very happy with the unit, it is responsive, has all the controls to hand and ease of access to your music on ITCH via the controller. I DJ on a weekends in a nightclub and is doing great for me so far, so i would recommend to try it out before you dismiss the whole computer thing, times do move on and i can provide a better set to my customers. so to the people out there saying "computers are cheating", get with the times your just scared of change. :)
