This piece of kit is an excellent midi controller for Traktor DJ software. It is capable of controlling all 4 decks for Traktor Pro users (a 2 deck version of Traktor is supplied and can be upgraded via the NI website at a good discount rate), and allows for fast hands on access to all the key features of the software making it easy to use loops, cue points effects quickly and in a more conventional manner than having to look at a computer screen and use keys or mouse control. The built in audio interface allows you to turn up at your gigs with nothing more than a laptop, and the Reloop DJ Interface controller itself. You can plug the Reloop DJ Interface into a single stereo input of the mixer, or PA at the venue. You can then use the Traktor internal software mixer with the faders and controls on the Reloop DJ Interface which also has a pre-fader audio preview using the built in headphone output. I personally use a Rane SL1 interface to give me 2 stereo outputs. I can then connect up to an external mixer and use the mixers own effects along with the Traktor effects to add even more to my performance. I have also tested the Reloop DJ Interface with Serato Scratch Live software. It works fine but the midi mapping is not built in as with Traktor, so some tinkering is required to make it work the way you want it to and there is no support for the jog wheels in Serato SL. This kit has really added something useful to my studio and something extra to my DJ sets by making the great features of Traktor DJ software easy to manipulate (before I had this controller I never used the Traktor effects or loops). Next stop is an NI Audio 8 so that I can use all of the available decks output to an external mixer.
