arrived today, opened box and fitted into flight box, the unit feels good and everything seems to work fine. the unit looks very classy and fits in with the colours of my tracktor x1 and mixer with nice vibrant lights and very clear display,this should help with events in brighter halls and daytime work (the area that that moblie djs need) Sound is very good on both cd,cd/mp3 and usb,the jog dial is nice and feels very good,all the rubber buttons feel good and solid apart from the cue and play that feel loose and are quite small but does not affect play. Looping is easy and does what it says but the butons are small and are close, but work well. Cueing for moblie work is easy and the player is quick to load,using the "search" or "scratch" to look and scan into tracks makes cueing easy. The scratch function works and is ok but because of the small jog wheel makes it hard to control and you do get digital noises like most of the cheap players. Beat matching and speed holding is a bit "off" at the moment but this should improve as the moters bet in,as with all new players only time will tell if they will bed in and i will review in a few weeks after a good couple of hours of play. The BPM "tap" button is a nice feature and works well. A very nice feature not stated is that if you hold "cue" then press "play" and relice bith buttons the track will continue to play same as the more expencive units. I have had many newmark 19" rackmount cd players last well and get the job done with no fuss, this unit is a solid cd player for moblie djs looking for a bit more freedom of play and wanting to expand there playback types without breaking the bank or want to carry more songs without having the problems of a laptop (just rember to tag and file music propley), this can also open the doors when selling your disco or event as you can tell your modern customers that they can bring "cd,mp3 or memory sticks" if they think there are last minit songs they think you may not have or live recordings of family and/or freinds songs with mp3s and memory sticks becoming the popular choise of music staorage,this can give you a safty net and shows you will go the extra mile for them. Cheap player for the working dj, or the bedromm club dj who needs more for there money. only 3 stars because its very good but because of the scratch function and the layout could be better.
